Prof. Dr. E. Saba Özmen will speak at the 7th Law of Obligations Congress (5-7 November 2026) on the first day, in Session 2, “Law of Contracts - 2” (5 November, 15:00-16:30, chaired by Prof. Dr. Cevdet Yavuz). The title of the paper is “Provisions and Consequences Regarding the Joint Claim of Positive and Negative Damages and Liquidated Damages in Contracts.” The paper examines whether positive interest (expectation damages) and negative interest (reliance damages) can be claimed together in case of breach of contract, and what legal consequences follow from liquidated damages clauses agreed in a contract.
